Napoli last 5 matches(All Competitions):
Napoli unceremoniously bowed out in the Coppa Italia to Atalanta a few weeks ago, at the San Paolo, and Napoli have lost 3 of their last 4 matches against the side from Bergamo.
That one win did come earlier this season, as the Partenopei rallied from a 1-goal deficit to win 3-1. Goals in that match came from Piotr Zielinski, Dries Mertens, and Marco Rog(!).
Coming off of the winter break, this is an absolutely massive match for Napoli. Juventus have a very winnable match, as they host Genoa, and Napoli can’t afford to give the old lady the chance to take over the top position in the league. The Neapolitan’s come off of a 2-0 win at home against Hellas Verona, with Kalidou Koulibaly and Jose Callejon netting in that victory. Napoli hope to continue their current Serie A form, having only lost once this season, and their even more impressive road form. Napoli have not lost in their last 23 matches in Serie A away from the San Paolo.
Atalanta most recently had a 2-1 victory at the Olimpico against Roma, with goals from Andreas Cornelius and Marten De Roon. Atalanta’s form has been in quite the ascendancy, having only lost once in their last 7 Serie A matches. Gianpiero Gasperini has really gotten the most out of his team this season, and hope to continue their role as Napoli’s bogey side.
